Terms of Service

Effective August 1, 2026

01Who we are and what these terms cover

PraxisAI ("the Service", "we", "us") is a technical assessment platform. Candidates solve real open-source software issues in a monitored cloud development environment with an AI coding agent, and the Service produces scored reports about that work. These Terms govern all use of the Service: the website, candidate assessment sessions, practice sessions, and the reporting tools used by hiring teams. By creating an account, opening an assessment invite, or starting a session, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

02Accounts

You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. Accounts are for a single named person: sharing an account, or taking an assessment on behalf of someone else, is prohibited and is grounds for immediate termination and invalidation of any scores produced.

03Assessment sessions are recorded. This is the product.

The core function of the Service is measurement of how you work. By starting a session you acknowledge and consent to the recording of, without limitation: every prompt sent to and response received from the AI agent, tool invocations, code you write or accept, file edits, test runs and their results, token usage and cost, timing of all activity, window focus and visibility changes, and clipboard paste events including their size. This telemetry is used to grade your work, to generate the report shared with the party that invited you, and to detect integrity violations.

If you do not want this activity recorded, do not start a session. There is no unmonitored assessment mode.

04Integrity rules

During an assessment session you must not:

  • have another person or an external AI system perform the work for you;
  • share, publish, or solicit solutions to assessment tasks;
  • attempt to exfiltrate hidden test suites, reference solutions, or grading logic;
  • probe, attack, or attempt to escape the sandboxed environment;
  • attempt to bypass token budgets, time limits, or the LLM gateway.

Suspected violations are flagged with evidence for human review by the inviting organization. We do not automatically fail candidates on flags alone.

05Acceptable use of the platform

You may not use the Service to violate any law, to infringe intellectual property, to attempt unauthorized access to systems or data of other users, or to resell access without a written agreement with us. Hiring teams may use candidate reports only for legitimate recruitment and evaluation purposes and in compliance with employment law in their jurisdiction.

06Intellectual property

Assessment tasks are derived from open-source projects and remain subject to their original licenses. Code you write during a session is yours, but you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to store, process, analyze, and display it as part of the assessment report and for the operation and improvement of the Service. The platform, its scoring methodology, task mutations, and reports are our intellectual property.

07Fees

Practice tiers and paid plans are billed as described on the pricing page at the time of purchase. Assessment credits for hiring teams are consumed per completed assessment. Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable once an assessment has been completed or a billing period has begun.

08Scores and no warranty of outcomes

Scores are a structured summary of observed work, produced by deterministic metrics and documented heuristics. They are decision support, not a decision. We make no warranty that scores predict job performance, and hiring decisions remain the sole responsibility of the hiring organization. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

09Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or opportunities, including lost employment opportunities.

10Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, with notice where practicable. Sections 3, 6, 8, 9, and 11 survive termination.

11Changes and contact

We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced on the Service before they take effect, and continued use constitutes acceptance. Questions about these Terms: legal@praxisai.dev.
